Speaking Test

Last Monday, i had undergone the speaking test for my final examination.. It was fine.. Not the one of the best moment in my life.. But not the worse either..
My group was the first one to be evaluated.. I was very nervous.. I felt like i have been keeping butterflies in my stomach and at that moment, they wanted to fly away.. (No butterflies!! You have to stay!)
I was having the most restless Physics tutorial ever.. I cannot stay calm.. When i had found my calmness, a group member of mine asked the tutor for permission to leave early since we need to be at ABT 2, 15 minutes before the test started.. The tutor said yes..(Why Mr tutor? say no please, i don't wanna leave the tutorial yet.. I wasn't ready for the speaking test)

At ABT 2, the examiner wasn't there yet.. we waited for them inside and discuss among ourselves, in Malay of course.. Then, when the examiners were there, they chased us out of the room..
About 5 minutes later, they called us in..
The topic was,
How to make new students to get to know each other
My point was,
held a gotong-royong session

Believe it or not, in English language speaking test, i was given an opportunity to speak in Malay language.. That shows that English language do not have a word that describe the meaning of gotong-royong.. I am proud to be a Malay language user..

After presenting and discussing, Naim's point was the winner.. He suggested to held a sports day..

I have a trouble to say my agreement or disagreement while discussing.. I cannot speak a thing while a person is talking.. I prefer to listen to them and just nod in agreement or shook my head when i disagree.. Luckily, there was the initiator.. actually, not only the initiator, every one of them prompted me to speak.. Thank you every one..

Till Then,

A Minute

If you checked my older post, once upon a time, i have written about KMMJ below is the link..

http://fatinnadia.blogspot.com/2008/07/program-mesrajaya-di-universiti-malaya.html

However, that post is just the first part of it... The second part of KMMJ was held on the next year, instead of in 10th resident college of UM, it was held in SMKSP.. Some of the facilitator during the second part were still the same, but the were some new faces.. One of them was my group's facilitator, Abang Akmal.. Hehe so many people envying me since i got Abang Akmal's group..

Actually, today's post is a post dedicated to him since i just saw him at the cafe of my college.. I didn't call him since i was so shy.. What others would say if i talked to him.. Furthermore he is a student of islamic study..

Okay, back to the KMMJ.. As a facilitator, he was so caring.. He remembered the names of the group members.. We ate together during meal time.. And spend a lot of time together during LDK.. Ermm he also shared his experience.. He was a shy person, so he joined the if i am not mistaken, the counselling club of his college.. He did that in order to improve his communication skill..

The event that i remembered the most was when each group need to create their own cheer.. Huh, that assignment was the hardest.. It was hard to think of something creative.. The group members didn't cooperate, and i saw him, distance himself.. away from us was he sulking? I can't tell.. Later, me and my group came up with an amazing cheer(we hate to see him like that).. Should i share the cheers? Maybe I should...

Kumpulan 6, The best,
Kumpulan 6 The best,
Kumpulan 6..... POWER!!!
(Amir said alone) Mau POWER?
(together) SUPER POWER!!! Bip(10x)
Ha ha ha ha

Well, that was our cheers, how were our body language when we said it out loud, i leave it for you to imagine yourself..
Later, when it was time to present our cheers, we did it with all our heart..
After everything ended, i saw him smiling again.. He said that ours was nice, but needed to be brushed up a bit...

That is what i remembered when i saw him at cafe just now.. Just a minute, but a lot of thing play in my mind...

Till then,
Live Brave, Be Bold..

Convocation Week

If a few week earlier was the Orientation week for faculty student, this week is the convocation week in UM..
Guess what is in my mind when it comes to convocation..
FESKUM!!!
FESKUM stands for Festival Konvokesyen Universiti Malaya
This is the first time i am here while the convocation being held..
Actually, i just returned from the convocation site.. This is the first time i went there while the sun is shining, although it barely shines since it is going to rain.. Usually, my family and i went there at night.. Hehe so many things there.. I think i should buy something for my mother since her birthday is just around the corner..
What should i buy?

Some of my friends had undergone their Final exam and in the middle of holiday. I really wish that they can be here and wandering around the festival site with me..

Good Luck

Next week will be an important week..
At this moment, i would like to wish good luck to all PMR candidates who will seat for their PMR examination next Tuesday..
Tips for the examination:
  1. Early to bed so that you'll rise and shine early
  2. Prepare the stuff needed during exam
  3. Get your family's blessings especially your parents
  4. Review your notes the night before exam
  5. Start your journey to school with prayers
  6. Don't forget to have your breakfast
  7. Don't eat to much until you fall ill
  8. You Identity card and your examination slip
  9. Leave all your notes and books outside the examination hall
  10. Don't ever try to cheat during the examination
I have something to say about cheating in examinations... I'll have to write it in Malay... Hehe, i just missed to write in Malay so much...

Menipu dalam exam memang x dapat diterima... Mungkin korang rasa takpe meniru, asalkan x tertangkap.. Persoalannya, korang ada byakugan(mata puak Hyuuga) ke nak identify kat mana encik pengawas tu masa korang melakukan kerja terkutk tu? Kalau nak meniru, paling bagus guna cara Gaara.. Hubungkan mata korang dengan pasir yang korang kawal, then ushar la org lain punya kertas.. Nak tgk sekolah lain punya pun boleh.. Persoalannya korang boleh ke buat camtu?
Ingatlah, exam PMR ni, walaupun x bermakna sgt, tp dia tetap effect masa depan korang utk jangka masa panjang.. PMR ni akan menentukan sama ada korang bleh masuk aliran mana... Keberkatan tak akan ada dlm result PMR korang kalau korang meniru.. Keputusan tu x valid.. Nanti kalau korang dpt masuk mana2 aliran, takut2 pelajaran tu x diberkati..
Lebih teruk lagi kalau korang addicted to cheat.. Dah menjadi kebiasaan meniru, SPM nanti pun korang nak melakukan kerja terkutuk tu.. Dapat result yg gempak, tapi bukan hasil usaha diri sendiri belajar, tp usaha org lain.. Bayangkan, korang dapat further study dgn result yg gempak tu.. Adakah ia diberkati? Nanti, korang cari kerja, adakah kerja tu diberkati.. Gaji, korang nak bg kat family, anak, isteri atau suami makan guna duit tu.
Apa pendapat korang? meniru memang jalan pintas, itu pun kalau x terkantoi.. Keseronokan meniru tu hanya sementara, cuba fikir long-term effect perbuatan tu.. Nak ke korbankan masa depan semata-mata utk keputusan yg gempak?
Mungkin nasihat ni dah terlewat, sebab korang x sempat nak start study.. Tp fikir2kan sblm bertindak.. Ingat masa depan..

Before i end this entry, I also wanted to wish good luck to all Asasian, well, next week is the week of Algebra and calculus tests.. Besides, we also going to have our FB01111 speaking test on next week or to be precise, it is tomorrow for me.. This one will be exactly like MUET speaking test just that we will be grouped according to our tutorial group> During MUET later, all of us will be mixed together.. the Hayat will be mixed with the Fizikal and Alam Bina..

You will have butterflies in your stomach.. You will feel like crying, but never.. I repeat, dont you ever break.. Live Brave dude.. Let the forces be with you.. Keep the memories and sacrifices of your parents in your mind.. Do the best for them.. Make the examination as a way for you to prove to them that you can do anything.. Just like what Steve from Blue's Clues said,
"You can do anything, that you wanna do"
So i wish may you have the best of luck on your examination and test.. You have been prepared for this... Believe yourself that you can do it.. Lastly, i hope you will be in the pink of health.. During my PMR, i was ill.. Having a fever will never be good.. It was hard to concentrate back then, especially the evening papers.. My head was killing me..

Till then,
Good luck, Live Brave, Be Bold..
May the force be with you..

My Perfect Choice of Colour

When i looked back, i realised that i have been attending a chemistry lab session with the most perfect choice of colour..

On the second lab session, which the first one that involve chemical with colour, i wore a ppurple4 coloured baju kurung. On the experiment, we were required to titrate Potassium Manganate (vii), KMnO4, which was purple in colour..

The next week, when i was in pink, we need to titrate the KMnO4 until a light pink solution obtained which was the end point of titration..

Then i realised that i always wear purple on Friday(the chemistry lab session is on friday) and our experiments used KMnO4 quite a lot of times...

As for yesterday, i purposely wear my orange baju kurung... I have checked the manual, it said that, the solution will be titrated until a pink coloured solution formed.. I think that a purple dress will be nice.. No more matching my clothes to the solutions.. Later, during the lab session, the demonstrator told us that we need to titrate the solution until an orange solution form... Dang!!! What a coincidence..

Well looking on the bright side, i have a sample of desired colour of solution beside me.. I can compare the intensity... Luckily, we were required to wear our lab coat in chemistry lab.. So it wasn't really obvious that i was wearing a baju kurung that match the colour of solution..

Till then,

Chemistry Lab: Troublesome but Satisfying

The title explained a lot about this experiment..
The experiment was a fractional distillation experiment.. We were trying to distill an azeotropic solution.. For sure the result will also be an azeotrope.. This was my first time conducting a fractional distillation experiment..
At 9:00 am in the morning, my heart was beating hard.. I was so nervous about the experiment.. The fact is, i was always nervous before a chemistry lab sessions..
We were required to team up and distill an azeotropic solution.. The preparation of the solution involve a really concentrated acid.. 50mL of 12 Molar Hydrochloric acid... The boys poured the concentrated acid into the distilling flask in the fume chamber and i just watch from distance.. At first we were 3 in a group.. suddenly, we (my group of 3 persons) were required to hand over our apparatus to a group from T1.. What?? now, how can i an azeotrope? Then, our group split up with our own directions.. I joined a group consists of 3 boys which were Musab, Syamin, and Hariz.. Dang!, i am the only girl...

At first, we begin our experiment normally, like others did... While waiting for the vapour to reach a constant temperature, we prepared 20mL NaOH solution 0.2M with 3 drops of methylene red solution.. Suddenly, Syamin noticed something.. There was something wrong with the flame of our Bunsen burner.. We called the demonstrator and lab assistant for assistance.. Then, the lab assistance tried to fix the Bunsen burner.. Later after replacing the tube of the Bunsen burner, the flame was fine again.. We continue our heating process..

It seemed like forever to wait for the solution to reach its boiling point... In the mean time, the boys took several pictures.. They were so funny.. Making a serious pose of checking the temperature of the vapour, posing beside the apparatus, and many more.. After a moment that seemed like forever, the temperature finally reach 109 degree Celsius, the boiling point.. We started to collect the distilled azeotrope.. While waiting for the conical flask collecting the distilled azeotrope reach 30mL, we did other things such as filling our jotter book..

Then, the second episode of terror started.. Once again, Syamin saw something unusual about the fire.. When he checked, he saw there were two flames at the Bunsen burner.. One from the chimney, which where the flame supposed to came from, and the other one from the gas inlet.. We were terrified.. Quickly, we turned off the gas.. We called for assistance once again.. This time, even the lecturer in charge also went to our bench to solve our problem... We were giving up since we were running out of time.. The boys begged our demonstrator to allow us to share our readings since the azoetrope collected was only enough for one dilution... Unfortunately, Miss Wan did not allow us to do so even the lecturer in charge, Dr Faridah also did not allow us to share readings...

We were forced to carry on our distillation at another bench where the Bunsen burner there was guaranteed free from problems.. While Syamin was setting up the distilling apparatus, me and Musab prepared the burette with the diluted azeotrope. Then, Musab started titrating.. He titrated confidently... The yellow coloured NaOH started to change in colour, but then it turned back to yellow.. Suddenly, after several drops, the solution turned straight to pink colour instead of orange.. That means, he had exceeded the end point.. Musab!! you had wasted our limited azeotrope!!! Next, Syamin tried his luck.. His titration also turned pink.. Later, the same result also made by Hariz.. Haha you guys love to waste our limited azeotrope huh?.. The rest of the azeotrope was used by Musab and Hariz, leaving me and Syamin without any readings yet.. waiting for the azotrope from the distillatin process at the other bench..

45 minuts to 12 pm, the distillation process in the other bench succeeded.. Finally.. Miss wan had been a little bit mad.. we were behind the schedule... Syamin quickly dilute the azeotrope and I prepared my burette.. When i was trying to rinse the burette with a little amount of azeotrope, i realised that it was stuck!! Dang!! I had to rinse another one and i have to make it quick.. I asked for the burette of other group which have been filled with azeotrope.. so i will not have to rinse it.. I emptied the burette and filled it with my azeotrope.. Mine and Syamin's actually..

When beginning my titration, it was 30 minutes to the end of lab session.. I realised that i have to be precise.. No room for exceeding the end point... Amazingly, my titrations worked out well.. Alhamdulillah.. All three NaOH turned to orange beautifully.. No pink colour solution.. Alhamdulillah.. This was the first time i titrate something accurately.. A historical moment.. I guess it is true that pressure can make someone better..

10 minutes to 12, i submit my data to Miss Wan.. Yeah!! i did it!! Alhamdulillah.. It was the most troublesome but yet, satisfying since i had a wonderful experience.. This was the first time i eave the lab when it was nearly empty.. While we were cleaning up our apparatus Syamin said "Rilek la Fatin, untuk pengetahun kau, kitorang ni memang selalu lambat, sebab tu Miss asyik attack kitorang.."
Oh, no wonder.. I never been the last during chemistry lab, but physics, i enjoy being among the last person leaving the lab as long as my report is completed..

Actually, this is not the last chemistry experiment, Group T will undergo another experiment next week.. I "can't wait"
